How to match your shoes with your outfit?

To properly match your shoes with your outfit, several solutions are possible.

If you find it difficult every morning to match your shoes and your outfit, this article is for you. First of all, you have to think about choosing shoes that match your outfit. When we talk about consistency we must take into account the occasion on which you are going to wear this outfit and these shoes.

Indeed, depending on the shoes you wear, it can totally change an outfit. Let’s take for example a simple outfit, jeans and a t-shirt, if you put on pumps or sneakers it will give you either a chic style or a completely casual style. It is therefore important to identify the style you want to give yourself before choosing the right pair of shoes.

For example, in the context of work, it is recommended to wear closed and chic shoes, even if mores are relaxed, you will look more professional with small flat city shoes or with a small heel. In a professional setting if you want to show off, pumps will be a good option. If you are afraid that high heels are too much, you can also opt for heeled ankle boots that will highlight your silhouette while remaining discreet.

Secondly, make sure that your whole outfit is consistent.

For example, if you opt for a rather retro style, choose derbies or babies .

On the contrary, if you want to adopt a sporty chic look, opt for sneakers instead.

If your outfit has accents of a rock look, complete it with high-top shoes:

  • flat ankle boots
  • heeled ankle boots like our Artémis model
  • high boots like our Joséphine model.

You can first opt for a total look, for example dressed all in black with black shoes , or more trendy, dressed all in white with white shoes . The total look allows you not to be mistaken, it is a safe bet, elegant and very sophisticated.

You can also take the opposite side of the total look and choose a shoe color that will contrast with your outfit, for example with a total black look, red shoes or gold shoes . You can also slice your look by choosing shoes in the opposite color to your outfit: for example, pair purple shoes with a yellow outfit, or pink shoes with a green outfit. As long as you stay in the same color intensities, your outfit will be harmonious, for example powder pink shoes with a mint green outfit or fuchsia pink shoes with a deep green outfit.

Comfortable Mary Janes

You can also compose an outfit with monochrome colors, that is to say colors close in nuance but slightly different:

the monochrome always works as long as the colors are close to each other. Consider making a color reminder between the shoes and an accessory, for example the bag or the belt.
